Ayr, the heart of Burns Country, is ideal for exploring the delights of the Ayrshire coastline or experiencing the stunning views of Arran or the Cumbraes. The countryside lanes wind past rivers and lochs to charming villages hidden among the hills. Steeped in rich and vivid history, there are many places of interest to visit such as Culzean Castle, Loudon Castle, Burns Cottage or Crossraguel Abbey to name a few.

Richly supplied with golf courses such as Turnberry, Royal Troon and the Old Prestwick course, Ayrshire is a hot spot for golfers. Several public courses are to be found in Ayr, Prestwick and Troon including the popular Seafield and Bellisle courses which are only five minutes drive from Stewartlea Stables.

Beautiful walks along the rivers Ayr and Doon or in Bellisle Park and Rozelle are all within the vicinity, and swimming, tennis, ten pin bowling and many more sporting activities are available.

There are several eating places to recommend within walking distance of the house and a wide choice within a short drive. The coastal waters supply restaurants and markets with high quality seafood while the award winning Farmers Market highlights the local produce available from the good farms in the area.

Look in the Links section for further information on these and other attractions in Ayrshire.
